Roberts Day led a team of local, interstate and international specialists to inspire a new breed of civic leader to put conventional practice aside and start afresh. It was following the Ripley Valley major community forum that a journalist likened the process to compressing what would typically be seven months of work into seven days. It was hailed a huge success and a phenomenal achievement to receive only one letter of rejection and 47 of support out of the 996 land owners.
With neighbourhood master planning already underway, the result will deliver smart growth for a new city that is destined to become larger than Cairns.
