Lauderdale Quay is a residential and mixed use marina development demonstrating best practise in waterfront design, offering a catalyst for growth, environmental preservation and tourist activity for the local community.
Located within Ralfs Bay, Lauderdale Quay is well positioned, in close vicinity to the City of Hobart and Hobart Airport, to provide a recreational lifestyle focus and community destination within easy commute from Hobart.
Working alongside a multi-disciplinary design team, Roberts Day led the visioning, design strategy and master planning for the project. The project team investigated the opportunities of the site and its surrounding context, while responding to close consultation with the community and environmental consultants to inform and underpin the development strategy for the master plan.
A central objective underlying the design of Lauderdale Quay is enabling a unique sense of place to evolve. Lauderdale Quay offers a vibrant central mixed use marina, housing diversity, designed public open spaces and facilities and the provision of an extensive pedestrian promenades, path and cycling trail networks that will build on the existing foundations to create a distinctive seaside identity.
Approximately 500 lots have been projected for the design with a variety of lot sizes and aspects to cater for a diverse community. The lots will provide for single detached, dual occupancy and medium density / mixed use housing types.
Lauderdale Quay responds to its natural environment, establishes areas for environmental preservation, delivers and upgrades vital services such as water and sewerage infrastructure, and expands and improves existing foreshore walks and trails. Lauderdale Quay will be developed over a seven to 10-year timeframe.
