Rosedale will be a new coastal village set across 174 ha of land on the south coast of New South Wales. With spectacular views over the Pacific Ocean and the opportunity to integrate creeks, wetlands and natural corridors into the master plan, it provides the opportunity to create a landmark lifestyle-based neighbourhood.
Before commencement of concept design, a comprehensive workshop was conducted with the client, project managers and external consultants. Key opportunities and constraints, the scope of the design code and the character of the locality were explored. The resultant concept plan embraces key features of the south coast vernacular, as well as the principles of neighbourhood design. The plan maintains and enhances view corridors, natural greenways throughout the site, significant trees and other natural features such as the Bevian Wetland and dams.
The final Bevian Road (Rosedale) Urban Design Guidelines include a set of interdependent documents that include the Character Plan, Thoroughfare Types, Design Guidelines and Landscape Concept Plan. The careful control of public domain, built form and private domain landscape of the development will ensure delivery of a high value community in an environmentally sensitive manner.
