Located 18km west of Melbourne’s CBD, Williams Landing capitalises on its direct access to the Princess / Western Freeway and metro rail. Williams Landing will be a unique and vibrant, transit oriented community supported by a local residential and workforce population.
Williams Landing is an urban infill development, occupying 275 ha of the historic former RAAF Williams airbase. Identified as a major activity centre within the State’s Framework Plan with Priority Development Zone (PDZ) status, Williams Landing is a key mixed use area envisaged by Melbourne 2030, the State’s overarching strategy for metropolitan development.
Roberts Day was engaged to lead the development of a strategic vision for Williams Landing that capitalises on the site’s 1.5km frontage to Princess Freeway, access to Laverton North Employment Area and its direct access to Melbourne’s Transport Network (PPTN), and the 23km Werribee-Brooklyn Federation Cycle Trail.
Planned, designed and developed according to Transit Oriented Development and Traditional Neighbourhood principles, the Williams Landing master plan sets the framework for an interconnected network of five walkable neighbourhoods providing around 2,500 homes. Supported by a residential and workforce population, Williams landing incorporates a town centre and transport hub, a diverse mix of housing, local parks and recreational reserves and environmental preservation areas.
A gateway to the Wyndham Growth Area and the City of Wyndham, Williams Landing will accommodate a significant employment hub with a target to provide at least 5,000 jobs focusing on mixed-use employment outcomes.
