
Bermuda Point is the final precinct in the Lend Lease Varsity Lakes development. With Bond University adjacent, the land had originally been envisaged as a future university town.
Through the Planning and Design Forum process Roberts Day was able to engage with the key stakeholders and expand on the vision to inspire outcomes that would benefit the wider city.
The plan proposed a high-density, transit-orientated waterfront community supported by boardwalks, parklands, a waterfront square and market space for new retail methods. A variety of dwelling types will address affordability issues and attract a wider range of demographics.
The new vision gained valuable momentum and with the support of all interested parties received full development approval just nine months after the project’s conception.
