The Paradise Point mixed use precinct - now known as Salacia Waters - is the largest project to have commenced construction on the Gold Coast during the global financial crisis, highlighting confidence in the project’s commercial robustness.
The $600 million project, being developed on a 10.8 hectare site, will have its own village centre and marina, as well as public amenities such a boardwalk, parkland and beach overlooking Sovereign Islands. It will feature a mix of 470 homes, apartments and villas that will all be accessible to the waterfront.
So inspired was the Gold Coast City Council by the process, it engaged Roberts Day to write a city-wide urban design checklist. Transect planning is now enshrined in its planning policy, positioning Gold Coast City Council as leaders in form-led strategic planning.
